The Team and Drum is planning on participating at the following Pow Wows and Special events. Most are open to the public. Please let us know if you have a Pow Wow scheduled in the the area (IL, WI, IN, MI, IA) or if anything below needs to be modified - send a note to the webmaster.

The team also participates as Venturers at events that can be found at http://venturing.nwsc.org/.

The dancers and singers got together to practice on a regular basis.  The dancers used to practice on Sundays, and the Drum still usually practices on Fridays. The dance team practice was at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Palatine, from 6:30pm to 9pm when there was not a Pow Wow or other special event on that weekend. Also, the OA lodge meets the 3rd Wednesday of each month in Mt. Prospect. OA dance team members should attend. The following list is subject to change.

The Lakota Dancers provided educational performances that demonstrate a variety of dance styles set in the theme of a Native American Pow Wow.  The performances begins with the "Grand Entry" of the dancers, followed by the Lakota Singers singing the Flag Song and Veteran's Song.   Other highlights include demonstrations of Men's and Womens Traditional and Fancy dancing, Grass dancing, Jingle Dress dancing, a traditional Sneak up,  round dancing, a two-step, and others.

The performance season is usually January through March.
Performances have been suspended, pending new members
Dancers report one hour before performance time listed below.
